Prologue

A quiet rarity on Copacabana.

Some residences are addresses. This one is a vantage. Spanning two floors and 848 square metres on the thirteenth storey of a 2011 building directly on Copacabana beach, ADV 001 unfolds as a procession of rooms, terraces and long horizons — the Atlantic on one side, Christ the Redeemer on the other, Sugarloaf at the periphery of every window.

It was conceived for the way a serious city-dweller actually lives in Rio: unhurried mornings, languid afternoons at the pool, dinners for twenty, and the small private luxuries that the world outside rarely sees.

The Sanctuary

The largest private pool in Copacabana.

A forty-foot basin cut into the upper terrace, facing the horizon. Mornings here belong to the pool; evenings, to the jacuzzi and the sauna. The air carries the Atlantic, the quiet carries the city.

Beyond the water: an outdoor fireplace, a dining terrace for long table evenings, sun loungers the colour of linen, a full churrasqueira, and — most importantly — nothing above you but sky.

A day at ADV

"Breakfast arrives before you do. A private chef is humming in the kitchen. The maid is already somewhere unseen, making the world around you effortless. Your only decision is whether to start at the pool, or the beach."

— An ordinary morning at ADV 001

The View

Christ, the Sugarloaf, and the entire Atlantic.

Two Brothers in the morning. Sugarloaf in the afternoon. Christ the Redeemer at dusk, lit above the city. The rarest Rio views are not the ones you travel to — they are the ones you wake up to, from a bed, a pool, a tub.
